Exciting Winter Canadian Sports
When it comes to different winter sports that Canada enjoys the good thing is some sports can be participated in at almost any age group. This ranges from the kids right up to the seniors. The country is very diverse with what it has to offer.
For the Kids
The kids can participate in a lot of the sports that the adults do. Actually, many adults developed their liking for a particular sport because they played it as kids. Some of the most common sports the young ones get involved in are as follows:
- Hockey
- Lacrosse
- Skiing
- Snowboarding
- Skating
Each of these are sports that they can enjoy on a recreational level, or they can become competitive in them. The weather conditions that Canada experiences allow them to enjoy these activities year after year.
The Adults
The adults will enjoy all of those outlined for the kids, but there may be some additional ones added to the list. Some of which the kids can also participate in, but at a young age they may not do so as much. These include:
- Ice Fishing
- Snowkiting
- Snow Sailing
- Luge
Along with a few others.
The Seniors
A lot of Canadian seniors are quite active and have been sports-minded throughout their years. While they may have to slow down by not being as active in the more aggressive winter sports, they can still participate in cross country skiing. Some enjoy snowmobiling activities.
Canada encourages all age groups to enjoy winter sports as much as possible. Keeping in mind that being a spectator can be equally as satisfying as participating in them. This is where the seniors really shine because they are very supportive of winter sports. Not only do they like to watch them on the professional level, but they also love to watch their family participate in them on an amateur level.
